Annual Leffell School Read-A-Thon Instructions

Since October of 2023, we have added a read-a-thon fundraiser / initiative to our book fair month! This year, the fundraising efforts will go towards Leffell Lower School recess equipment - some new and fun items and some necessary replacements!

How the read-a-thon works:

1. Spread the word! Your parents, grandparents, cousins, aunts/uncles, neighbors and best friends can all be solicited for read-a-thon fundraising pledges

2. Each person will pledge a dollar amount per number of pages read or number of books read (depending on age/reading level) over the course of a few weeks. For instance, for a third grader: Mom and dad pledge $5 for every 20 pages read, Auntie pledges $2/for every 20 pages read and Saba and Sata pledge $10 for every 20 pages read. For a fifth grader, maybe that's per book and for a kindergartener, maybe it's 5-10 pages that you read to them. You can decide as a family.

3. The read-a-thon will run from today through Sunday, November 2.

4. This read-a-thon form should be filled out for your reference only in order to keep track. It does not need to be returned to school.

5. Once the read-a-thon has ended, participants and/or pledgers can send the amount they earned and collected or pledged by sending money via Zelle to Leffell.pto.financial@gmail.com and filling out the memo with the child's name and "read-a-thon.”

Any questions? Please reach out to anyone from the book fair committee or your class parent.

Happy reading!!
